A Departing Message from the Rev. Seth Walley
My dear friends,
A wise person once said, “Life has a way of changing things.” While that quote is not from Holy Scripture, I really think it should be. Today, I write to you about a change in our parish life. Yesterday, I informed Bishop Seage, the Wardens, and the Vestry that I am resigning my position as your Priest in Charge (Under Special Circumstances) at Christ Church. My last Sunday with you will be May 23rd, the Feast of Pentecost.
This past year has been filled with “special circumstances.” In my own life, both personally and professionally, there have been changes that necessitate my leaving Christ Church. Some of these changes have been difficult. But through the difficulties of the past year, you as my Christ Church family were a strong rock in my life. I will always be grateful for the steady support you gave to me.
As I move forward with plans to move to the Jackson metro area and pursue a new career in the private sector, please know that I will carry you in my heart. I love you all. May the peace of God, which passes all understanding, be always with you.
